Began operations in the Maldives, marking the company’s first international venture. Grew into a robust construction company with a workforce exceeding 1,500 laborers. Successfully completed numerous major construction projects over the following decades, solidifying a strong presence in the region.
Late 1980s
Expanded globally by initiating operations in Seychelles. Played a significant role in major resort development projects, contributing to the region’s tourism and infrastructure growth.
2002
Broadened operations to the African continent, starting with Uganda. Engaged in energy-related projects, including hydropower plant developments. Developed design proposals for infrastructure projects in Guinea, showcasing expertise in innovative project planning.
2015
Extended operations to the Southeast Asian region. Initiated projects focused on energy infrastructure development, leveraging advanced technologies and sustainable practices.
2018KSJ Construction (Pvt) Ltd was founded by Mr. K.S. Jayabahu, the esteemed founder and chairman. From its modest beginnings, KSJ Construction has steadily grown by addressing the core needs of local clients, building over 35 years of expertise in the construction industry.
To extend this expertise internationally, KSJ Overseas Pvt Ltd was established, marking a significant step in broadening our global reach. Maldives was one of the first destinations for our overseas operations, followed by successful projects in Seychelles, Uganda, and Myanmar. We continue to expand our footprint, with plans to extend our services to more countries in the future
Mr K S Jayabahu’s journey in construction began back in 1982 when he joined Kajima Corporation, working on the Colombo Dockyard project. In 1986, he moved to Mitsui Construction Co. Ltd, where he had the opportunity to contribute to some of Colombo’s remarkable projects like the Hilton Hotel in Colombo and the Orugodawatta Tank Farm.
As he gained more experience, he joined Sanken Lanka Pvt Ltd and played a key role in the renovation of the Colombo District Court. His entrepreneurial spirit eventually led him to becoming a subcontractor for Mitsui, overseeing the construction of buildings such as Crescat and Jaic Hilton Residencies.
In 1987, he took a bold step and founded K S J Enterprises. By 2002, with the support of some dedicated professionals, K S J Construction Pvt Ltd was officially established, marking the beginning of a new chapter in civil engineering.
